Principles of high frequency heating
The principle is based on occurrence of heat in resistance components of metal as the secondary current is induced through the surface of the heated object due to magnetic field created by currents on heating coil from AC power. As frequency gets higher, it leads currents to be excessively concentrated on the surface of the heated object and the heated object only, which increases electrical resistance equivalently and improves relative efficiency.
Strength of high frequency heating
- Rapid response: Metal heating is possible compared to indirect heating as heat occurs from the material itself
- High efficiency: Higher than gas heating and control of heat input is convenient
- Eco-technology: Hazardous gas or the surrounding environment is clean
- Various characteristics of heating: Hardness depth or heat distribution can be adjusted according to purposes of application by differentiating permitted input frequency
